Working on my childhood dream project - Project IB.

INTRODUCTION:

Greetings Everyone! I am thrilled to present to you my latest project - Project Infinity: Beginning (Name subject to change), a dark RPG game that will take players on an epic journey through a mysterious realm filled with danger and adventure. As a lifelong fan of dark rpg games, I have always dreamed of creating my own immersive world that would capture the imagination of players around the globe. Drawing inspiration from classic RPGs such as Zelda and Dragon Quest, as well as modern titles like Elden ring and Dark Souls, I set out to create a game that would combine all the best elements of these beloved franchises while also introducing new and exciting gameplay mechanics that would keep players engaged for hours on end.


OVERVIEW:

Project Infinity is an epic dark RPG that takes players on a journey through a vast and immersive world filled with danger and adventure. Set in a richly detailed and visually stunning environment inspired from old Nintendo games like Zelda Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess, the game combines elements of story, action, strategy, and exploration to create a truly unique gaming experience. As players progress through the game, they will encounter a diverse cast of characters and creatures, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. The game's combat system is unique and challenging, requiring players to master a variety of skills and abilities in order to succeed. Along the way, players will uncover the secrets of a dark and mysterious storyline that will keep them engaged and invested in the game's outcome.


INSPIRATION:

ZELDA:

Legend of Zelda (especially Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess) has been a source of inspiration for many game developers over the years, and Project Infinity is no exception. I drew inspiration from the game's immersive world-building, dark environment and theme, and exploration elements, as well as its memorable characters and engaging storyline. However, I also wanted to build upon what made Legend of Zelda great and create our own unique experience. In Project Infinity, players will encounter a vast world filled with hidden secrets and challenging enemies. The game features an intricate combat system that rewards skillful play and encourages experimentation. Additionally, the storyline of Project Infinity is rich, unique and dark.



DARK SOULS:

Project Infinity's combat system draws inspiration from the popular action RPG game, Dark Souls. Like Dark Souls, Project Infinity features challenging enemies and a deep combat system that rewards skillful play. Players will need to learn enemy attack patterns, dodge and parry attacks, and manage their stamina in order to succeed. However, Project Infinity also adds its own unique twists to the formula. For example, players can use skills to augment their attacks or defend against enemy skills. Additionally, each weapon type has its own unique set of moves and combos, allowing players to experiment and find the play style that suits them best.


GAME HOOK:

  1. Weight Impact: Different weapons have varying weights that influence attack speed and stamina consumption. Heavier weapons deal more damage and have greater reach, but swinging them consumes more stamina and is slower. Lighter weapons are faster but deal less damage.

  2. Momentum Management: When attacking with a heavier weapon, the character builds up momentum during the swing. The player can strategically time attacks to capitalize on this momentum, delivering more powerful blows or even knocking enemies off balance. Conversely, lighter weapons have less momentum but can be used for quicker and more precise strikes.

  3. Environmental Interaction: The environment also plays a role. Characters can use obstacles, walls, or terrain features to enhance their attacks. For example, a player wielding a heavy axe might slam it into a wall to create a shockwave that stuns nearby enemies. Lighter weapons could be used to quickly strike enemies' weak points while dodging around obstacles.

  4. Weapon Specialization: Players can become skilled in specific weapon categories, gaining access to unique techniques and combos related to that weapon's weight a. This encourages players to explore different weapon types and adapt their playstyle accordingly.

In addition, the weapons and armor degrade over time, adding an additional layer of challenge and strategy to battles. Players must manage their equipment's condition to maintain effectiveness in combat.


SO WHAT'S NEXT?:

As I mentioned before, this game is my childhood dream project that I've wanted to create for a long time, so it's very close to my heart. That's why I will take the necessary time to build this game properly. First, I will create the first chapter of this game. I've divided the development time into three categories: Pre-Production (2-3 weeks from now), Production (1.5 months after Pre-Production), and Testing & Launch (2-3 weeks after Production, followed by the launch).
